The Intermot Testimonial
XV950R by Walzwerk
Racing
Markus Walz was asked by the Intermot Cologne to build their second official motorcycle. Walzwerk had already built the first one in 2016, based on a Ducati Scrambler. This was the time of a brand new Yamaha XV950R. First of all, suspensions were uprated by Touratech with a special set of bespoke twin shocks. They have also produced a special set of progressive fork springs for the stock fork which has been lowered by about 7cm. The stock rims now wear Avon Cobra tires. LSL contributed a couple of clip-on bars, fully adjustable brake and clutch levers and the footpegs. MotoGadget was also part of the project supplying a set of grips and their matching bar-end turn signals. SC-Project from Milan manufactured the 2 in 1 full titanium exhaust system with a Superbike muffler. The airfilter is a Kuryakyn unit. A Power Commander V was fitted to increase the power and to make the airfilter work together with the exhaust. Powder coating and engravings of the engine covers were by SF-Parts. The stock fuel tank was modified and equipped with a Monza-Style gas cap. Front and rear fenders are aluminium custom made. F. Lammers was responsible for the metalwork. The frame and especially the rear frame section is absolutely stock, with no cutting or welding. The seat was custom made by Andreas Buerger. The nice paintjob, featuring a Pagan Gold Metalflake by House of Kolors, and the rest of the bodywork satin black, was by Chiko from Pforzheim.

Apex Ruler
Introduced by Yamaha Europe at the Wheels & Waves Festival in Biarritz last weekend, this official yard built XSR700 "Apex Ruler" is the latest work by Marcus Walz of WalzWerk Racing.
This tracker has been equipped with several high end parts including RotoBox carbon wheels wearing Pirelli Supercorsa racing tires, SC-Project full exhaust system, Wilbers front- and rear suspensions, adjustable LSL rear sets and handlebar, special brakelines, clutch and brake levers, DNA racing airbox, Power Commander V, MotoGadget mini speedo etc. The XSR has been also subject a 520 racing chain conversion. The entire new bodywork was handmade out of 2mm aluminium. The paint of the fuel tank cover is inspired by the early RD's 2-stroke Yamahas, embellished by a touch of metalflake and 12 layers of clear coat, painted by Chiko from Pforzheim who also took care of pinstriping the speed block pattern which is not a decal. The final weight after the cure, according to the builder is only 150 kgs… Very promising!

Readers' rides: Paura's CB500
The 1993-2004 CB500 twin is a bike that has got a lot a qualities but, I'm afraid, among these, the look is missing... Francesco "Paura" Curci thought it was time to find a remedy...
This 1996 Honda CB 500 was born from the idea of its owner: Francesco "Paura" Curci, a well known Italian rapper, passionate of cooking, who also works as graphic designer in the music industry. Francesco has signed the album covers for artists such as Mario Biondi, Giusy Ferreri, Rocco Hunt, Neffa and many more. But, as far as we are concerned here, Francesco is passionate of the two wheels. For a long time he has been working out the kind of motorcycle to customize and meet his needs. Fascinated by the scramblers from the 70s, however, he sought something more functional, reliable and agile than the classics. And the 90's motorcycle market, effectively, offers a lot for less. The CB500 caught him at the first lap. Simple, easy, fun and intuitive. From the project, Francesco went to the building, engaging a professional: his friend Angelo Caliendo of Low Special Parts Workshop. Although Angelo is a specialist in large-displacement American bikes, he enthusiastically accepted the engagement and built most of the modifications from scratch, with minimal use of aftermarket components.
The front section of the seat is derived from the OEM, while the back has been made using metal sheet and fiberglass, and houses the taillight. The upholstery was custom made by a specialist. The flyscreen was shaped from a dibond slab (composite polyethylene aluminum), then folded, painted and bolted on the headlight. For the radiator cover, was used aluminium mesh. The side panels are still stock, but, thanks to the color scheme, they suddenly get a different style. Wheels, engine, forks and several details have been painted matt black. Only the tank is now glossy finished rifle grey. The upgrade of the original bike is really remarkable and IMHO the choice of the color scheme played a central role... Francesco and Angelo have turned the ugly duckling into... A rude, handsome Panzer tank!
Giusy Ferreri, Rocco Hunt, Neffa e molti altri.
anni 90, in effetti, offre molto e spesso a poco. La CB500, lo ha
conquistato al primo giro. Semplice, facile, divertente e intuitiva.
ricorso a componenti aftermarket.
quella posteriore è stata realizzata in lamiera e plexiglass, e ospita
il fanalino posteriore. La tappezzeria è stata realizzata da un
artigiano.
